So yeah I got a new mini-server at home a Genesi Efika MX flattop it’s awesome
it has *drumroll*
- 8GB NAND Flash memory
- 8GB SSD
- 800Mhz ARMv7 CPU
- a flashy LED with all the colors of the rainbow on top
pretty awesome right
yes, yes I know it’s slow but for NodeJS it’s perfect! nodejs is single threaded anyway and doesn’t use much CPU
but yeah this evening tried to get a NoSQL server running
CouchDB installed without any problems, but it seems that it uses alot of CPU when idle what I don’t want, so next MongoDB 1000′s of problems building and I don’t trust it at all, mongo itself is cool though, (I just tried to autocomplete though with ctrl+space *facepalm*), TouchDB is in ObjC and I need to install GNUstep for it, a big nope. so I got 3 choices, make my own NoSQL, move to SQL or use a server somewhere else to host my documents, I will try 1 first and if that doesn’t work. I go for 3 and then 2 so 1 -> 3 -> 2
That sums up my evening.
Have a good night/day/whatever
